Available Across Munster

Hi, I'm Ciara — an experienced singer based in Cork, Ireland. I have a BA in Music from UCC and I am a qualified music teacher. I play guitar and piano, and I have performed in many churches, hotels and venues across Munster. I also have experience conducting my local church choir.

I have a passion for bringing music to life on special days. I'll work with you to craft the perfect soundtrack for your ceremony — whether that's a joyful wedding or a tender farewell.

I perform across all genres and take pride in learning songs that are personally meaningful to each couple or family. Every performance is tailored, rehearsed, and delivered with warmth and professionalism.

Wedding music

A practical guide to each ceremony moment, with song suggestions built in. These are only starting points — I'm happy to learn any song that's meaningful to you.

Songs by ceremony moment

Planning your church ceremony music can feel overwhelming, so each moment below combines a simple explanation with song suggestions that suit that part of the Mass.

1
Entrance Procession

Processional

This is your entrance — music begins as soon as the first person in the bridal party walks through the doors and continues until the priest greets you and you're seated. Choose something personal that sets the tone for your day.

Song suggestions
  • You Are Mine (hymn)
  • Be Thou My Vision (hymn)
  • Pachelbel's Canon in D
  • At Last — Etta James
  • Can't Help Falling in Love — Elvis
  • A Thousand Years — Christina Perri
  • Perfect — Ed Sheeran
  • Make You Feel My Love — Adele
  • Your Song — Elton John
  • Songbird — Eva Cassidy
  • How Long Will I Love You — Ellie Goulding
2
Usually 20–30 seconds

Lighting of the Individual Candles

The bride and groom each light a candle representing themselves. This moment is brief, so an instrumental piece works beautifully here.

Song suggestions
  • Here Comes the Sun — instrumental
  • River Flows in You
  • A Thousand Years — instrumental
  • Can't Help Falling in Love — instrumental
  • Sí Bheag Sí Mhór
  • Inis Oírr
3
Psalm & Hymns

Responsorial Psalm

A reflective moment during the liturgy of the word. Liturgical hymns and psalm settings work best here.

Song suggestions
  • On Eagle's Wings
  • Here I Am Lord
  • Amazing Grace
  • Be Not Afraid
  • The Cloud's Veil
  • Psalm 128
4
Before the Gospel

Gospel Acclamation

A short, joyful response before the Gospel reading. This is normally a brief Alleluia or Gospel Acclamation setting.

Song suggestions
  • Alle-Allelu-Alleluia
  • Celtic Alleluia
  • Seinn Alleluia
5
Usually 20–30 seconds

Lighting of the Marriage Candle

Together, the couple light a third candle symbolising their union. Like the individual candles, an instrumental piece is ideal — the same music used earlier works perfectly here too.

Song suggestions
  • River Flows in You
  • Sí Bheag Sí Mhór
  • Inis Oírr
6
Presentation of the Gifts

Offertory

Music to accompany the presentation of the gifts. A gentle liturgical hymn works especially well at this point.

Song suggestions
  • Mo Ghrá Thú a Thiarna
  • Ave Maria
  • Ag Críost an Síol
  • Amazing Grace
  • As I Kneel Before You
  • May the Road Rise to Meet You
  • The Cloud's Veil
7
Short & gentle

Sign of Peace

A peaceful moment in the ceremony. A short instrumental, a gentle hymn, or one verse of a song will usually be enough.

Song suggestions
  • Make Me a Channel of Your Peace
  • Peace Is Flowing Like a River
  • Short instrumental reprise
  • Sí Bheag Sí Mhór (instrumental)
8
One or two hymns

Communion

Liturgical music is best here. Depending on the size of your congregation, you'll likely need two hymns.

Song suggestions
  • Mo Ghrá Thú a Thiarna
  • Here I Am Lord
  • On Eagle's Wings
  • Ag Críost an Síol
  • How Great Thou Art
  • As I Kneel Before You
  • Let There Be Love
  • Create in Me a Clean Heart
9
A little more freedom

Signing of the Civil Register

This is where you sign the legal marriage documents. As the formal mass is over, there's a little more freedom with song choice.

Song suggestions
  • May the Road Rise to Meet You
  • God Only Knows — The Beach Boys
  • Your Song — Elton John
  • Take My Hand — Picture This
  • Fields of Gold — Eva Cassidy
  • Dreams — The Cranberries
  • How Long Will I Love You? - Ellie Goulding
  • Bright Blue Rose
  • Raglan Road
  • The Voyage
  • I Don't Want to Miss a Thing - Aerosmith
10
Time to celebrate

Recessional

You're married! The recessional is the bridal party's exit, so this is the perfect moment for something joyful and uplifting.

Song suggestions
  • Companions on the Journey (hymn)
  • Accidentally in Love - Counting Crows
  • Marry You — Bruno Mars
  • Here Comes the Sun — The Beatles
  • Lovely Day — Bill Withers
  • Greatest Day — Take That
  • Ho Hey — The Lumineers
  • This Will Be — Natalie Cole
  • Say a Little Prayer
  • A Sky Full of Stars
  • Galway Girl
  • This Is the Day — The The

These are just suggestions — if you don't see your song, get in touch. I'm happy to learn something special just for your day.
